Severe cases may be life-threatening. * Edema: Swelling of ankles and other joints. **Other possible side effects:** * Vision changes: Changes in blood sugar control can cause temporary blurring of vision. * Diabetic neuropathy: (nerve damage) - can cause pain, numbness, or tingling. * Weight gain. **If you experience any side effects, especially severe allergic reactions or severe hypoglycemia, seek immediate medical attention.** This is not an exhaustive list; consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Huminsulin 30/70 is a premixed insulin containing 30% short-acting (regular) insulin and 70% intermediate-acting (NPH) insulin. It is used to control high blood sugar in people with diabetes mellitus.
Unopened vials should be stored in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). Once in use, Huminsulin 30/70 can be stored at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 28 days. Avoid direct heat and sunlight.
Common side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), injection site reactions (redness, swelling, itching), and lipodystrophy (changes in fat tissue at the injection site).
Huminsulin 30/70 is administered via subcutaneous injection, usually 15-30 minutes before a meal. The injection site should be rotated to prevent lipodystrophy. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
If you experience symptoms of hypoglycemia (sweating, shakiness, confusion, dizziness), consume a fast-acting source of sugar such as glucose tablets, juice, or hard candy. Check your blood sugar and follow your doctor's instructions.
You should consult your doctor before using Huminsulin 30/70 during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Insulin requirements may change during these periods.
Certain medications, such as beta-blockers, corticosteroids, and some antidepressants, can affect blood sugar control and may interact with Huminsulin 30/70. Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.
Huminsulin 30/70 is a premixed insulin and should not be mixed with other insulin types unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
Huminsulin 30/70 contains regular and NPH insulin, while Humalog Mix 25 contains lispro protamine and lispro insulin. Humalog Mix 25 is a rapid-acting insulin analog, while Huminsulin 30/70 is a combination of short-acting and intermediate-acting insulin.
Symptoms of an insulin overdose include severe hypoglycemia, loss of consciousness, seizures, and coma. Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect an overdose.
The frequency of blood sugar monitoring depends on individual needs and your doctor's recommendations. Generally, it's recommended to check before meals and at bedtime, and possibly after meals.
Lifestyle changes that can improve blood sugar control include following a healthy diet, engaging in regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and managing stress.
Yes, you can travel with Huminsulin 30/70. Keep it in your carry-on luggage, along with a copy of your prescription. Be mindful of temperature changes and protect the insulin from extreme heat or cold.
Dispose of used syringes and vials safely in a sharps container or a puncture-resistant container. Follow local regulations for proper disposal of medical waste.
If you miss a dose, check your blood sugar and follow your doctor's instructions. Do not double your next dose to make up for the missed one.
