Monitor closelyMontelukast has been associated with neuropsychiatric events such as agitation, aggression, anxiety, abnormal dreams, insomnia, depression, and, rarely, suicidal thoughts or behavior.
It is used for relief of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria, and as add-on preventive treatment of asthma and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction where allergy is a significant trigger.
