Tuspel LS Syrup may cause some side effects, though not everyone experiences them. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, dizziness, headache, tremors (shakiness), palpitations (fast or irregular heartbeat), and nervousness. Less common side effects can involve dry mouth, diarrhea, muscle cramps, and skin rashes. Rarely, severe allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing) or irregular heartbeats may occur. If any side effect bothers you or persists, or if you notice any severe side effects, please consult your doctor immediately.

Allergies
UnsafeDo not take TUSPEL LS SYP if you are allergic to levosalbutamol, ambroxol, guaifenesin, or any other ingredients.
Tuspel LS Syp 100ml is primarily used to relieve symptoms associated with productive cough (wet cough), such as shortness of breath, chest congestion, and wheezing, typically due to conditions like asthma, bronchitis, or emphysema. It helps to clear mucus from the airways and ease breathing.
Tuspel LS Syp contains a combination of three active ingredients: Levosalbutamol (a bronchodilator), Ambroxol (a mucolytic agent), and Guaifenesin (an expectorant).
Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles in the airways, widening them and making it easier to breathe. Ambroxol thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin increases the volume and reduces the stickiness of secretions in the airways, further aiding in mucus expulsion.
The dosage of Tuspel LS Syp should be as prescribed by your doctor, based on your age, weight, and the severity of your condition. It is crucial not to exceed the recommended dose. Always use the measuring cup or spoon provided.
Yes, Tuspel LS Syp can be prescribed for children, but the dosage will vary based on their age and weight. Always consult a pediatrician before administering this medicine to children.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, dizziness, headache, tremors, nervousness, and palpitations. These are usually mild and temporary.
While rare, serious side effects can occur, such as severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), irregular heartbeat, or severe dizziness. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any severe or persistent side effects.
Tuspel LS Syp should generally be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a doctor. The potential benefits must outweigh the risks. Always consult your doctor before taking any medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
It is generally advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking Tuspel LS Syp, as alcohol can increase the risk of side effects like dizziness and drowsiness.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact a poison control center. Symptoms of overdose may include severe tremors, rapid heartbeat, extreme restlessness, or seizures.
Store Tuspel LS Syp at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not freeze the medicine.
While not a primary sedative, some individuals may experience dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when starting the medication. If you experience these effects, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.
Inform your doctor about all other medications, supplements, and herbal products you are currently taking to avoid potential drug interactions. Specific caution is needed with certain antidepressants, beta-blockers, or diuretics.
The duration of treatment depends on your condition and response to the medicine. Do not use Tuspel LS Syp for longer than recommended by your doctor. If symptoms persist or worsen after a few days, consult your doctor.
Tuspel LS Syp is primarily formulated for productive (wet) coughs with mucus, as it contains mucolytic and expectorant agents. For dry coughs, a different type of cough syrup (cough suppressant) might be more appropriate. Consult your doctor for the correct diagnosis and treatment.
While the active ingredients are the same across different brands, variations can exist in excipients (inactive ingredients), taste, and overall formulation, which might affect patient preference or minor aspects of absorption. However, the core therapeutic action remains similar. Always stick to the brand prescribed by your doctor.
Tuspel LS Syp may contain sugar or artificial sweeteners. Diabetic patients should consult their doctor before taking it, as the sugar content might affect blood glucose levels. Your doctor can advise on suitability or recommend alternative formulations.
Seek medical attention if your symptoms do not improve or worsen after a few days, if you develop a high fever, severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, or if you experience any severe or unusual side effects like rapid heartbeat, chest pain, or rash.
