About BORTESHIL INJECTION

  • BORTESHIL INJECTION is a chemotherapy medication classified as a proteasome inhibitor, containing the active ingredient Bortezomib. It is prescribed for treating multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow, and mantle cell lymphoma, a less common cancer affecting lymph nodes. This medication may be used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs like pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone, or thalidomide, especially for patients who are newly diagnosed and not eligible for blood stem cell transplants. It works by blocking the action of proteasomes, cellular complexes involved in protein degradation, thereby disrupting cancer cell growth and survival.
  • Common side effects associated with BORTESHIL INJECTION include pneumonia, loss of appetite, skin sensitivity (tingling, burning), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, constipation, muscle and bone pain, hair loss, fever, infections, itching, redness, dehydration, and stomach problems. It's crucial to inform your physician if these side effects become bothersome or persist. You should immediately seek medical advice if you experience severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or any signs of an allergic reaction.
  • Before using BORTESHIL INJECTION, inform your doctor about any allergies you have, particularly to Bortezomib or any of the injection's ingredients. This medication is contraindicated in individuals with severe lung or heart conditions. Discuss your medical history with your physician, especially if you have neuropathy (nerve malfunction), cardiac disorders, severe lung problems, pulmonary disorders, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), neutropenia (low white blood cell count), tumor lysis syndrome (metabolic abnormalities during cancer treatment), or hepatic disorders. If you have diabetes, inform your doctor, as BORTESHIL INJECTION can affect your blood glucose levels. Regular monitoring and adjustments to your diabetes medication may be necessary. Also, if you are a female of reproductive age, you must use effective contraception during the treatment and for a certain period after the last dose.

Uses of BORTESHIL INJECTION

default alt

Pregnancy

UNSAFE

BORTESHIL INJECTION is unsafe to use during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. Both women of childbearing potential and men must use an effective contraception method during and three months after treatment.

Dosage of BORTESHIL INJECTIONArrow

  • BORTESHIL INJECTION is administered either intravenously, directly into your vein, or subcutaneously, which means it's injected under the skin. The specific route of administration will be determined by your healthcare provider based on your individual needs and treatment plan.
  • It is crucial that this injection be administered only by a qualified and experienced healthcare professional. These professionals possess the necessary expertise in handling cytotoxic medications, which are drugs designed to kill rapidly growing cells, such as cancer cells.
  • Administering cytotoxic medications requires careful precision and adherence to strict protocols to ensure patient safety and maximize treatment effectiveness. Attempting to self-administer BORTESHIL INJECTION or having it administered by someone without the proper training can lead to serious complications and adverse effects.
  • The healthcare professional administering the injection will also monitor you closely for any signs of side effects or adverse reactions during and after the injection. They are equipped to manage any potential complications that may arise. Therefore, relying on their expertise is paramount for a safe and effective treatment experience.

How to store BORTESHIL INJECTION?Arrow

  • Keep BORTESHIL 2MG INJ away from the reach of children and pets.
  • Store BORTESHIL 2MG INJ at room temperature.

Benefits of BORTESHIL INJECTIONArrow

  • BORTESHIL INJECTION is designed to combat cancer cells by directly targeting and disrupting their essential functions. Its primary mechanism involves exerting a toxic effect specifically on these malignant cells, leading to their eventual destruction. The injection achieves this by inhibiting the 26S proteasome, a crucial protein complex responsible for degrading unnecessary or damaged proteins within cells. By blocking this proteasome, BORTESHIL INJECTION disrupts a major cell signaling pathway that cancer cells rely on for survival and proliferation.
  • This disruption of the signaling pathway renders the cancer cells more vulnerable and sensitive to the effects of chemotherapy. Essentially, it weakens their defenses, making them more susceptible to the cytotoxic drugs used in chemotherapy treatments. Furthermore, BORTESHIL INJECTION promotes the accumulation of specific proteins within cancer cells. This build-up of proteins interferes with the normal cellular processes necessary for growth and multiplication, thereby minimizing the spread and progression of the cancer.
  • In essence, BORTESHIL INJECTION works through a multi-pronged approach: directly poisoning cancer cells, making them more receptive to chemotherapy, and hindering their ability to grow and multiply. This comprehensive action makes it a valuable tool in the fight against cancer, offering patients a potentially effective means of slowing down or even reversing the disease's progression.

How to use BORTESHIL INJECTIONArrow

  • BORTESHIL INJECTION is administered intravenously, meaning it's injected directly into your vein, or subcutaneously, which means it's injected under the skin. This ensures the medication is absorbed effectively into your system.
  • Due to the specialized nature of this medication and potential side effects, it is crucial that BORTESHIL INJECTION is administered only by a qualified healthcare professional. This professional should have extensive experience in handling cytotoxic medications, which are drugs designed to kill or inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
  • Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of injections based on your individual condition, treatment plan, and response to the medication. It's vital to adhere to the prescribed schedule and attend all scheduled appointments.
  • During the administration of BORTESHIL INJECTION, the healthcare professional will closely monitor you for any adverse reactions or complications. Be sure to inform them immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms or discomfort during or after the injection.
  • It is important to remember that BORTESHIL INJECTION is a powerful medication, and its use requires careful monitoring and management. Discuss any concerns or questions you have with your doctor or healthcare team to ensure you receive the safest and most effective treatment possible.
