About BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION

  • BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION is a chemotherapy medication classified as a proteasome inhibitor, containing the active ingredient Bortezomib. It is prescribed for treating multiple myeloma, a cancer affecting plasma cells in the bone marrow, and mantle cell lymphoma, a less common cancer impacting the lymph nodes. In patients new to treatment and ineligible for blood stem cell transplants, this medication is often used alongside other chemotherapy drugs like pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone, or thalidomide.
  • This injection works by blocking the action of proteasomes, which are cellular complexes that break down proteins. By inhibiting proteasomes, BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION disrupts the normal cellular function of cancer cells, leading to their death. This targeted approach helps to control the growth and spread of cancerous cells in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma.
  • Common side effects associated with BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION include pneumonia, loss of appetite, skin sensitivity (tingling, burning), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, constipation, muscle and bone pain, hair loss, fever, infections, itching, redness, dehydration, and stomach problems. It's important to inform your doctor if these side effects become bothersome or persist.
  • Before using BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION, inform your doctor about any allergies to the medication or its ingredients. This medication is not suitable for individuals with severe lung or heart conditions. Discuss your medical history with your doctor, especially if you have neuropathy (nerve malfunction), heart disorders, severe lung problems, pulmonary disorders, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), neutropenia (low white blood cell count), tumor lysis syndrome (metabolic abnormalities during cancer treatment), or liver disorders. Also, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, as this injection can affect blood glucose levels. Close monitoring and management may be required.

Pregnancy

UNSAFE

BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION is unsafe to use during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. Both women of childbearing potential and men must use an effective contraception method during and three months after treatment.

Dosage of BORVIZ T 2 INJECTIONArrow

  • BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION is administered intravenously, directly into your vein, or subcutaneously, meaning it's injected under your skin. This medication must be administered by a qualified healthcare professional who is experienced in using cytotoxic medications. Cytotoxic drugs are powerful and require careful handling and administration.
  • It is crucial that you do not attempt to self-administer BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION. The healthcare professional will carefully calculate the correct dosage based on your individual needs, medical condition, and response to treatment. They will also monitor you closely for any potential side effects during and after the injection.
  • The intravenous route ensures the medication is delivered directly into your bloodstream for immediate effect, while subcutaneous injections allow for a slower, more sustained release of the drug. The choice of administration route will be determined by your doctor based on the specific requirements of your treatment plan. They will explain the process and address any concerns you might have before the injection.

How to store BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION?Arrow

  • Keep BORVIZ T 2MG INJ away from the reach of children and pets.
  • Store BORVIZ T 2MG INJ at room temperature.

Benefits of BORVIZ T 2 INJECTIONArrow

  • BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION is a targeted cancer therapy that disrupts the normal functioning of cancer cells. It primarily functions by inhibiting the 26S proteasome, a critical protein complex involved in protein degradation within cells. By blocking this proteasome, BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION disrupts a major cell signaling pathway that cancer cells rely on for growth and survival.
  • This disruption of the signaling pathway has a sensitizing effect, making cancer cells more vulnerable to the effects of chemotherapy. In essence, it weakens the cancer cells' defenses, increasing the likelihood that chemotherapy drugs will be effective in killing them. Furthermore, BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION promotes the accumulation of specific proteins within cancer cells. This protein build-up interferes with the cells' ability to grow and multiply, effectively slowing down or even halting the progression of the cancer.
  • BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION's multifaceted approach – inhibiting the proteasome, enhancing chemosensitivity, and disrupting cell growth – contributes to its effectiveness in treating certain types of cancer. It offers a valuable treatment option by targeting the underlying mechanisms that drive cancer cell proliferation.

How to use BORVIZ T 2 INJECTIONArrow

  • BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION is administered intravenously, meaning it's injected directly into your vein, or subcutaneously, which means it's injected under the skin. This medication requires careful handling and precise administration to ensure its effectiveness and minimize potential side effects.
  • It is crucial that this injection is given by a qualified and experienced healthcare professional who is well-versed in the use of cytotoxic medications. Cytotoxic drugs are powerful medications that can be harmful if not administered correctly.
  • Therefore, self-administration of BORVIZ T 2 INJECTION is strictly prohibited. Attempting to inject yourself can lead to serious complications, including infection, improper dosage, and damage to surrounding tissues. Always rely on a trained medical professional to administer this medication safely and effectively.
  • Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of injections based on your individual medical condition and response to treatment. They will also monitor you closely for any signs of adverse reactions or side effects during and after the injection. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and report any concerns or unusual symptoms to them immediately.
