Switglim M 2/1000mg Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.
Switglim M 2/1000mg Tablet contains two medicines, Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride belongs to a class of drugs called sulfonylureas. It lowers blood sugar levels by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas. Metformin belongs to a class of drugs called biguanides. It works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, decreasing absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing sensitivity to insulin.
