METRIDE PL 2MG Tablet is a medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps to control blood sugar levels.
METRIDE PL 2MG Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride belongs to a class of medicines called sulfonylureas. It works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. Metformin is a biguanide. It works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, slowing down the absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
The dosage is determined by the doctor and can vary from person to person. It is usually taken once or twice daily with meals.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. Consult a doctor if side effects persist or are bothersome.
Tell your doctor about all your existing medical conditions, allergies, and all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal products.
The safety of METRIDE PL 2MG Tablet during pregnancy is not established. Therefore, it should only be used during pregnancy if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
