About REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S

  • REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag, belongs to the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist category and functions as an anticoagulant. It is prescribed to treat low platelet counts resulting from primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection. ITP is an autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys platelets, which are vital blood cells responsible for clotting and maintaining blood vessel integrity. Low platelet levels can lead to easy bruising and severe bleeding. Additionally, REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S is used in adults to manage low blood counts caused by severe aplastic anaemia, a serious condition where the bone marrow fails to produce sufficient new blood cells.
  • This medication is not suitable for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to Eltrombopag or any of its components. Allergic reactions can manifest as mild to severe symptoms, including rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S is also contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease, as it carries the potential for hepatotoxicity, indicated by increased liver enzymes and bilirubin levels. Using this drug in individuals with severe liver disease can further worsen liver function, so caution is advised. Regular eye check-ups, including cataract assessments and monitoring for retinal bleeding, are recommended during treatment.
  • Discontinuation of REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S may lead to a rapid decline in blood platelet count within a few days. Your platelet count will be monitored regularly after stopping the medication, and your doctor will discuss appropriate precautions. A very high blood platelet count may increase the risk of blood clotting. Your doctor will adjust your dose of this medicine to ensure that your platelet count does not become too high. Avoid taking this medication with dairy products or drinks, as the calcium content can interfere with its absorption. Employ effective birth control methods during treatment, and inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant. REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S is generally not recommended for children under one year of age with ITP, nor for patients under 18 with low platelet counts caused by hepatitis C or severe aplastic anaemia. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs and vitamins.

  • REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S is prescribed for the treatment of:

  • This medication can be taken either with or without food. To ensure proper absorption and effectiveness, swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not attempt to chew, crush, or break the tablet, as this could alter the way the medication is released into your system.

Benefits of REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'SArrow

  • REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S is designed to stimulate megakaryocytes, which are the large cells residing in the bone marrow. These cells play a crucial role in the production of platelets, the tiny blood cells essential for blood clotting. By prompting these megakaryocytes to produce more platelets, REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S effectively increases the platelet count in the bloodstream.
  • This increase in platelets is vital for individuals at risk of bleeding or bruising easily. When the body experiences a cut or injury, platelets rush to the site and clump together to form a plug, stopping the bleeding. Insufficient platelets can lead to prolonged bleeding, easy bruising, and other complications. REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S helps to prevent these issues by ensuring an adequate supply of platelets.
  • Therefore, by boosting platelet production, REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S acts as a preventative measure against bleeding and bruising, particularly beneficial for those with low platelet counts or conditions that impair platelet function. It aids in maintaining the body's natural ability to heal and prevent excessive blood loss.

How to use REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'SArrow

  • REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S is a prescription medication that is taken orally. The precise dosage and treatment duration will be determined by your doctor, taking into account your specific medical condition and other relevant factors. It's crucial to adhere strictly to your doctor's instructions regarding the use of this medicine.
  • You can take REVUGAM 25MG TABLET 7'S either with or without food. Regardless of whether you choose to eat beforehand, maintain a consistent approach each day to optimize its effects. Consistency helps maintain stable blood levels of the medication.
  • To ensure proper absorption and effectiveness, swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Avoid chewing, crushing, or breaking the tablet, as this could alter the way the medication is released and absorbed in your body. If you have difficulty swallowing tablets, discuss alternative options with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
