About THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S

  • THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S is an anticoagulant drug belonging to the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist category, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It treats low platelet counts caused by primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection. ITP refers to an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system destroys platelets. Platelets are blood cells that aid in clotting and protect blood vessel walls. When platelet levels are low, it can result in severe bleeding and bruising. This tablet is also used in adults to treat low blood counts caused by severe aplastic anaemia (a serious blood disease that occurs when the bone marrow fails to produce enough new blood cells).
  • It is crucial to understand the mechanism of action of this medication. Eltrombopag, the active ingredient, stimulates the bone marrow to produce more platelets. This helps to increase the platelet count in individuals with conditions like ITP and aplastic anemia, reducing the risk of bleeding complications. The effectiveness of THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S relies on the body's ability to respond to this stimulation and produce platelets.
  • This drug should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to the drug or its components. Allergic reactions can range from mild to severe and may include symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease. This drug can potentially cause hepatotoxicity, as indicated by increased liver enzymes and bilirubin levels. Using this drug in individuals with severe liver disease can further worsen liver function, so caution is advised. Your doctor will recommend that you are checked for cataracts. Your doctor should arrange regular testing if you do not have routine eye tests. You may also be checked for bleeding in or around your retina (the light-sensitive layer of cells at the back of the eye).
  • If you stop taking this tablet, your blood platelet count is likely to become low again within several days. The platelet count will be monitored, and your doctor will discuss appropriate precautions. A very high blood platelet count may increase the risk of blood clotting. However, blood clots can also form with normal or even low platelet counts. Your doctor will adjust your dose of this medicine to ensure that your platelet count does not become too high. Do not take this tablet with dairy products or drinks, as the calcium in these items affects the absorption of the medicine. Use effective birth control during the treatment, and if you become pregnant, you must inform your doctor. THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S is not advised for children aged under one who has ITP. It is also not recommended for patients under 18 with low platelet counts caused by hepatitis C or severe aplastic anaemia. Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take other medicines. It includes medicines obtained without a prescription and vitamins.
  • Before starting THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S, it's important to discuss your complete medical history with your healthcare provider, including any pre-existing conditions, especially liver or kidney problems. Regular monitoring of liver function is essential during treatment. Patients should also be aware of the potential side effects, which can include nausea, fatigue, and musculoskeletal pain. If you experience any unusual symptoms, promptly inform your doctor.
  • Furthermore, patients should maintain open communication with their healthcare provider throughout the course of treatment. Dose adjustments may be necessary based on individual response and platelet counts. This medicine is typically taken orally, as directed by your doctor, and it's important to follow the prescribed dosage and schedule. Avoid self-medicating or altering the dosage without consulting your doctor. Consistent adherence to the treatment plan is vital for achieving optimal results and minimizing potential complications.

Benefits of THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'SArrow

  • THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S is a medication designed to increase the platelet count in your blood. Platelets are essential for blood clotting, and a low platelet count can lead to easy bruising and bleeding. This medication works by stimulating megakaryocytes, which are large cells in the bone marrow responsible for producing platelets. By prompting these cells to create more platelets, THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S helps to prevent excessive bleeding.
  • Specifically, THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S targets the underlying mechanism that leads to low platelet levels in certain conditions. It encourages the bone marrow to produce a greater quantity of platelets, thereby improving the body's ability to form blood clots and stop bleeding effectively. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals at risk of bleeding complications due to a reduced platelet count.
  • Ultimately, the action of THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S in boosting platelet production contributes significantly to reducing the risk of bleeding and bruising, helping patients maintain a healthier blood profile and improving their overall well-being. Regular monitoring by a healthcare professional is important while taking this medication to ensure its effectiveness and manage any potential side effects.

How to use THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'SArrow

  • THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S is an oral prescription medication, meaning it is taken by mouth and requires a doctor's prescription to obtain. The dosage and the length of time you need to take THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S will be determined by your doctor, who will consider your specific medical condition, its severity, and other individual factors.
  • It is crucial to adhere strictly to your doctor's instructions regarding the use of THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S. Never adjust the dose or stop taking the medication without first consulting your doctor, as this could have negative consequences for your health. This medication is usually prescribed to prevent blood clots.
  • You can take THROMPLAT 25MG TABLET 10'S either with or without food. Some people find it easier to remember to take their medication when they associate it with a meal. However, the most important thing is to take it consistently at the same time each day.
  • The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not attempt to chew, crush, or break the tablet, as this could affect how the medication is absorbed into your body and may alter its effectiveness. If you have difficulty swallowing pills, discuss this with your doctor or pharmacist, as they may be able to suggest alternative ways to take the medication.
