Allergies
UnsafeDo not take DYNAGLIPT M FORTE TABLET if you are allergic to Teneligliptin, Metformin, or any other ingredients in the tablet.
DYNAGLIPT M FORTE TABLET is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps control high blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
The active ingredients are Teneligliptin (20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (1000mg).
It combines two medicines: Teneligliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, which increases the amount of insulin produced by the body and decreases the amount of sugar made by the liver. Metformin, a biguanide, reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Together, they effectively lower blood sugar levels.
The typical dosage is one tablet once daily, preferably with a meal, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste, and headache. These are usually mild and temporary.
Serious side effects are rare but can include lactic acidosis (a serious build-up of lactic acid, especially with Metformin), pancreatitis, severe allergic reactions, and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) if taken with other diabetes medicines. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe symptoms.
It should not be taken by patients with severe kidney disease, liver disease, severe heart failure, metabolic acidosis, a history of pancreatitis from DPP-4 inhibitors, or known hypersensitivity to Teneligliptin or Metformin.
This medicine is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor, as they will weigh the benefits and risks and suggest the best course of action.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact an emergency service. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and symptoms of lactic acidosis.
Store the tablets at room temperature, away from moisture and direct heat. Keep them out of reach of children and pets.
It is generally advised to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine, as alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and may affect blood sugar levels.
While there are no specific dietary restrictions, maintaining a balanced diet low in sugar and saturated fats, along with regular exercise, is crucial for managing type 2 diabetes effectively.
DYNAGLIPT M typically contains Teneligliptin (20mg) and Metformin (500mg), while DYNAGLIPT M FORTE contains Teneligliptin (20mg) and a higher dose of Metformin (1000mg). The "Forte" variant is for patients requiring a stronger Metformin component.
Yes, combinations of Teneligliptin and Metformin are available under various brand names from different manufacturers, such as Zita-Met Plus (Glenmark), Tenapan M Forte (Ipca), Teneza-M Forte (Lupin), and Glipten M Forte (Emcure), among others. Always consult your doctor before switching brands.
