ZITEN M 20/1000MG Tablet is a combination medication used to manage blood sugar levels. Like all medicines, it can cause side effects, though not everyone experiences them. Common Side Effects: These are usually mild and often improve as your body adjusts: * Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach * Abdominal pain or discomfort * Loss of appetite * Metallic taste in the mouth * Headache * Nasopharyngitis (common cold-like symptoms) Less Common or Serious Side Effects (Seek medical attention immediately if you experience these): * Severe Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): Especially when used with other diabetes medications like insulin or sulfonylureas. Symptoms include dizziness, confusion, sweating, tremors, hunger, and weakness. * Lactic Acidosis (Rare but Serious): Symptoms include profound weakness, muscle pain, difficulty breathing, unusual sleepiness, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. This requires urgent medical care. * Pancreatitis (Inflammation of the Pancreas - Rare): Severe, persistent stomach pain that may radiate to your back, with or without vomiting. * Allergic Reactions: Rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (angioedema). * Liver Problems: Unusual tiredness, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice). * Vitamin B12 Deficiency: Can occur with long-term metformin use, potentially leading to nerve problems (neuropathy) or anemia. It's important to discuss all potential side effects and any concerns with your doctor or pharmacist. Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your healthcare provider.

Allergies
UnsafeZITEN M is unsafe for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to sitagliptin, metformin, or any of its excipients.
Ziten M is used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults, usually when diet and exercise alone are not enough, or when other medications are not effective. It helps control blood sugar levels.
It contains Teneligliptin (20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (1000mg).
Teneligliptin belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor class, increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion. Metformin is a biguanide that reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste in mouth, headache, and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if not taken with food or if combined with other sugar-lowering medicines.
Yes, rare but serious side effects include lactic acidosis (due to Metformin, especially in patients with kidney problems) and pancreatitis (due to Teneligliptin). Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms like severe abdominal pain, muscle pain, or difficulty breathing occur.
Usually once or twice daily, as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
If you remember soon, take it. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Metformin, one of its components, is often associated with modest weight loss or stabilization, rather than weight gain, which is common with some other diabetes medications. Teneligliptin is generally weight-neutral.
Patients with severe kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, a history of lactic acidosis, or hypersensitivity to any of its components should not take it. It's also not for Type 1 diabetes.
It's advisable to avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and hypoglycemia, especially with Metformin.
Store at room temperature, away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Lactic acidosis is a rare but serious side effect of Metformin, characterized by a build-up of lactic acid in the blood. Symptoms include severe tiredness, unusual muscle pain, difficulty breathing, stomach pain, dizziness, or a sensation of cold. Seek immediate medical help.
Yes, many pharmaceutical companies produce this combination. Some examples include Tenelix M, Tenepan M, Zita Met, Glipitene M, etc., though specific formulations might vary. Always consult your doctor for suitable alternatives.
No, Ziten M does not cure Type 2 Diabetes. It helps manage and control blood sugar levels. It should be used in conjunction with diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications as prescribed by your doctor.
Inform your doctor or surgeon that you are taking Ziten M. You might need to stop the medication for a few days before and after certain procedures, especially those involving contrast dyes or general anesthesia, to reduce the risk of kidney problems or lactic acidosis.
