Like all medicines, TIBAN M 20/1000MG TABLET may cause side effects, though not everyone gets them. It's important to be aware of these. **Common Side Effects (often mild and may improve over time):** * **Digestive Issues:** Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or a metallic taste in the mouth. These are particularly common when starting Metformin. * **Headache:** Mild to moderate headaches. * **Nasopharyngitis:** Cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or sneezing. * **Constipation:** Difficulty passing stools. * **Feeling Bloated:** A sensation of fullness or gas in the stomach. **Less Common or Serious Side Effects (seek medical attention if you experience these):** * **Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia):** Especially if TIBAN M is taken with other diabetes medications or if meals are skipped. Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, confusion, blurred vision, or shakiness. * **Lactic Acidosis (Rare but Serious):** This is a very rare but severe complication, primarily associated with Metformin. Symptoms include severe fatigue, muscle pain, difficulty breathing, unusual stomach upset, dizziness, or a very slow or irregular heartbeat. It's an emergency. * **Allergic Reactions:** Rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing. * **Pancreatitis (Inflammation of the Pancreas - Rare):** Symptoms include severe and persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting. * **Vitamin B12 Deficiency:** Long-term use of Metformin can lead to reduced vitamin B12 levels, potentially causing fatigue, weakness, or nerve problems. * **Skin Reactions:** Rare but possible skin conditions like bullous pemphigoid (blisters). Always discuss any concerns or persistent side effects with your doctor or pharmacist. Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your healthcare provider.

Allergies
UnsafeDo not take this medicine if you are allergic to Glibenclamide, Metformin, or any of its other ingredients.
TIBAN M is used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It helps control high blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
It contains Teneligliptin (20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (1000mg).
Teneligliptin works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas and decreasing hormones that raise blood sugar. Metformin works by reducing glucose production in the liver, decreasing glucose absorption from the intestines, and improving insulin sensitivity.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, headache, and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), especially if taken with other diabetes medications.
Serious but rare side effects include lactic acidosis (a medical emergency, more common with Metformin), pancreatitis, severe allergic reactions, and kidney problems. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe symptoms.
It should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily with meals to reduce stomach upset. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Metformin, one of the components, is often associated with modest weight loss or weight neutrality. Teneligliptin is generally weight-neutral. Significant weight changes should be discussed with your doctor.
It is generally advised to limit or avoid alcohol consumption. Alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis (a serious side effect of Metformin) and also lower blood sugar levels.
People with severe kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, a history of lactic acidosis, or those with known allergies to Teneligliptin or Metformin should avoid it. Always inform your doctor about your complete medical history.
TIBAN M is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a doctor, as there is limited data on its safety in these populations.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct light. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Yes, there are several other brands with the same combination, such as Zita-Met, Tenelid-M, Teneli-M, etc. The choice of brand depends on the doctor's prescription and availability.
TIBAN M is typically prescribed for long-term management of Type 2 Diabetes. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor, even if your blood sugar levels are controlled.
In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact an emergency service. Symptoms of overdose can include severe hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis.
Yes, TIBAN M can interact with certain medications like diuretics, corticosteroids, medicines for high blood pressure, and other diabetes medications. Always inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking.
