Allergies
UnsafeDo not take TENELISTATUS M 1000MG TABLET if you are allergic to Teneligliptin, Metformin, or any other ingredients in the tablet.
It's used to lower high blood sugar levels in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, often in combination with diet and exercise. It helps improve glycemic control.
The active ingredients are Teneligliptin (typically 20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (1000mg).
Teneligliptin works by increasing the levels of certain natural substances (incretins) that help control blood sugar. Metformin works by reducing glucose production in the liver, decreasing glucose absorption from the intestines, and increasing insulin sensitivity.
The dosage is typically once daily with meals, or as directed by your doctor. It's crucial to follow your doctor's instructions.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, headache, and metallic taste. These often subside as your body adjusts.
While Metformin alone rarely causes hypoglycemia, when combined with Teneligliptin or other anti-diabetic medications, the risk can increase. It's important to monitor blood sugar levels regularly.
It's contraindicated in patients with severe kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, a history of lactic acidosis, or those who are allergic to Teneligliptin or Metformin. Always inform your doctor about your medical history.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Serious but rare side effects include lactic acidosis (a build-up of lactic acid in the blood, more common with Metformin in at-risk patients), pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), and severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe symptoms.
It's generally advised to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication, especially due to the Metformin component, as alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and can also affect blood sugar levels.
The effects on blood sugar levels can be observed relatively quickly, often within days to a few weeks, but optimal glycemic control may take longer. Consistent use along with diet and exercise is key.
Yes, the combination of Teneligliptin and Metformin is available under many other brand names depending on the region and manufacturer. Your doctor or pharmacist can guide you on available alternatives with the same active ingredients.
Tenelistatus M is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It's crucial to discuss your pregnancy status or plans with your doctor, as they may suggest alternative treatments.
Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not freeze.
In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact a poison control center. Overdose symptoms may include severe gastrointestinal issues, severe hypoglycemia, or symptoms of lactic acidosis.
Yes, it can interact with certain medications, including cimetidine, verapamil, digoxin, diuretics, corticosteroids, and others. Always inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking to avoid potential interactions.
No, Tenelistatus M is specifically indicated for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It is not used to treat Type 1 Diabetes, which requires insulin therapy.
