Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient to control blood sugar levels.
Take Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Usually, it is taken orally once daily, preferably with the first main meal of the day. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Common side effects may include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. Consult your doctor if these persist or worsen.
It is generally not recommended to drink alcohol while taking Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet, as it can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and other side effects.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet contains glimepiride and metformin. Glimepiride stimulates the release of insulin from the pancreas, while metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.
Weight gain is a potential side effect of Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet, particularly due to the glimepiride component. Discuss this with your doctor if you are concerned.
Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney or liver disease, type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, and known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for safer alternatives to manage blood sugar levels during these periods.
Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet can interact with several medications, including NSAIDs, diuretics, and certain heart medications. Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions.
The best time to take Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet is usually with the first main meal of the day. This helps to prevent hypoglycemia.
Store Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.
Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet is not intended for weight loss. It is specifically used to manage blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
Symptoms of hypoglycemia may include shakiness, sweating, dizziness, hunger, confusion, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty concentrating. If you experience these symptoms, consume a source of fast-acting sugar.
Do not stop taking Glucoryl M 2mg Tablet without consulting your doctor. Suddenly stopping the medication can lead to uncontrolled blood sugar levels.
