Like all medicines, GLIMIGEM M2 TABLET 10'S can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. **Common Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):** * Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms may include sweating, shakiness, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, hunger, blurred vision, headache, mood changes, or confusion. * Gastrointestinal disturbances: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain. **Uncommon Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):** * Impaired liver function: Indicated by yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice). * Skin reactions: Itching, redness, hives. **Rare Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):** * Blood disorders: Reduction in blood cells (e.g., platelets, white blood cells), which may lead to easy bruising or increased risk of infection. * Allergic reactions: Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing. **Very Rare Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):** * Severe skin reactions: Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (characterized by blistering and peeling of the skin). * Lactic acidosis: A build-up of lactic acid in the blood, characterized by nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, muscle cramps, and difficulty breathing. **Other Possible Side Effects:** * Headache * Dizziness * Visual disturbances **Important Note:** This is not an exhaustive list. AllergiesAllergies: Do not use Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any of the ingredients present in it.
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's is a combination of two medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in patients whose blood sugar is not controlled by diet and exercise alone.
Common side effects of Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. Some patients may also experience hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's contains Metformin, which can cause lactic acidosis in patients with kidney problems. Patients with kidney disease should use it with caution, and a doctor may adjust the dose or suggest alternative treatments.
Store Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Avoid consuming alcohol with Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's, as it can increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and increase the risk of lactic acidosis due to Metformin.
If you miss a dose of Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's is not recommended during pregnancy. Insulin is preferred during pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's is not recommended for breastfeeding women as it may pass into breast milk and harm the baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's may cause weight gain in some patients, especially if taken with other diabetes medications. It's important to manage weight through a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's may take a few days to start lowering blood sugar levels. It is important to take it regularly to control your blood sugar levels effectively.
Symptoms of an overdose of Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's include low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), such as dizziness, confusion, sweating, tremors, and weakness. In severe cases, seizures or loss of consciousness may occur.
Certain medications should be avoided while taking Glimigem M2 Tablet 10's, such as some antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole), some antibiotics (e.g., sulfonamides), and some heart medications (e.g., beta-blockers). Tell your doctor about all your medications.
