Like all medicines, GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. **Common Side Effects:** * Nausea * Vomiting * Diarrhea * Abdominal pain * Loss of appetite * Metallic taste * Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) - symptoms may include sweating, tremor, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, hunger, blurred vision, weakness * Headache **Uncommon Side Effects:** * Skin rash, itching, or hives * Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight) * Dizziness * Fatigue * Constipation * Changes in blood cell counts (e.g., leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis) - may increase risk of infection or bleeding * Liver problems (e.g., jaundice) - symptoms may include yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, pale stools * Visual disturbances * Weight gain **Rare Side Effects:** * Allergic reactions (e.g., angioedema, anaphylaxis) - symptoms may include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, rash * Severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis) - symptoms may include blistering and peeling of the skin * Impaired liver function and hepatitis * SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion) - can lead to low sodium levels in the blood * Lactic acidosis (especially in patients with kidney problems) - symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, muscle cramps, severe tiredness, and difficulty breathing **Important Considerations:** * This is not a complete list of side effects. GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.
GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S is a combination of two medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride belongs to the sulfonylurea class which works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas thereby lowering the blood sugar levels. Metformin belongs to the biguanides class which works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from the intestines and increasing the sensitivity to insulin.
The common side effects of GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite.
GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dosage adjustment may be required. Please consult your doctor.
GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S is not recommended during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S is not recommended during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Take GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take it with food.
If you miss a dose of GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S can cause weight gain in some patients. Monitor your weight and talk to your doctor if you experience excessive weight gain.
Alcohol should be avoided while taking GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S as it can lower blood sugar levels and cause other side effects.
An overdose of GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect an overdose.
GLYREE M 2MG TABLET 10'S can interact with certain other medications. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
