Like all medicines, GLUFORMIN G 1MG TABLET 15'S can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. **Common Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):** * Nausea * Vomiting * Diarrhea * Abdominal pain * Loss of appetite * Metallic taste **Uncommon Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):** * Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) - Symptoms may include sweating, shaking, anxiety, blurred vision, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, headache, hunger. It is important to recognize and treat hypoglycemia promptly. * Skin reactions such as rash, redness, itching, or hives **Rare Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):** * Lactic acidosis - a very rare, but serious complication. Symptoms include feeling very ill, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, difficulty breathing, muscle cramps, feeling cold, especially in the arms and legs, dizziness, or lightheadedness. * Abnormal liver function tests **Very Rare Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):** * Decreased Vitamin B12 absorption * Liver problems such as hepatitis (inflammation of the liver) * Disturbances in blood counts **If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking GLUFORMIN G 1MG TABLET 15'S and seek immediate medical attention:** * Lactic acidosis (see above) * Severe allergic reaction (symptoms may include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing or swallowing; hives) This is not a complete list of side effects.
