About MABTAS T 100 INJECTION
- MABTAS T 100 INJECTION contains the active ingredient rituximab. It is used to treat several different health problems in adults and sometimes children. This injection is used alone or with other medicines for certain types of blood cancer. This includes a type of lymphoma (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) and a common form of leukemia (chronic lymphocytic leukemia), both of which affect specific white blood cells called B-cells.
- MABTAS T 100 INJECTION is also used for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults when taken with methotrexate. Rheumatoid arthritis is a condition where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own joints, causing pain and swelling. Other conditions treated with this injection include granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis, which are types of blood vessel inflammation, mainly affecting the lungs and kidneys, in adults and children aged 2 and older. It also helps treat moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune skin condition that causes painful blisters on the skin and inside the mouth and other areas.
- MABTAS T 100 INJECTION belongs to a group of medicines called anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. Do not use this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any other components of this medicine, have a very weak immune system, or currently have a severe infection. It's important to tell your doctor about any history of heart problems like heart disease or heart failure, or if you have breathing difficulties, before starting treatment. Also, inform your doctor if you have ever had a hepatitis B infection, as this medicine can sometimes cause the infection to become active again, which can be serious. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are generally not advised while receiving this injection.
- Common side effects you might experience with MABTAS T 100 INJECTION include symptoms of infection, a drop in red blood cells, feeling dizzy, swelling (especially in the face), itchy skin, diarrhea, increased sweating, and changes in blood pressure (low or high). Women who can become pregnant should use effective birth control during treatment and for 12 months after the last dose. This medicine can sometimes cause severe reactions during the infusion or within 24 hours after it. Signs of an infusion reaction can include changes in blood pressure, chest pain, headache, trouble breathing, vomiting, skin rashes, or swelling in the throat. You will be closely monitored during the infusion. If you notice any of these symptoms during or after the infusion, tell your doctor or nurse immediately. They are prepared to manage these reactions quickly. Always discuss any concerns or side effects with your healthcare team.

Benefits of MABTAS T 100 INJECTION
- MABTAS T 100 INJECTION is a targeted therapy that works by specifically binding to CD20 proteins found on B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. This targeted approach helps the medicine focus its effects where they are needed.
- In blood cancers like Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), MABTAS T 100 INJECTION helps by causing these cancerous B-cells to die and by stopping their uncontrolled growth. This contributes to its significant anti-cancer effects.
- For conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, MABTAS T 100 INJECTION helps manage the disease by reducing the activity of B-cells, which are involved in the inflammatory process. This action helps decrease joint inflammation, leading to reduced pain, swelling, and stiffness.
How to use MABTAS T 100 INJECTION
- MABTAS T 100 INJECTION must only be given by a qualified healthcare professional, like a doctor or nurse, in a medical setting such as a hospital or clinic. It is crucial never to attempt to self-administer this medication.
- Before you receive your dose of MABTAS T 100 INJECTION, your doctor or nurse will likely give you other medications. These are called 'pre-medications' and typically include things like antihistamines or steroids. Their purpose is to help reduce the chance of experiencing potential side effects or reactions during the infusion process.
- The specific amount of MABTAS T 100 INJECTION you receive, and how often you receive it, will be carefully determined by your doctor. This decision is based on several factors, including the type and severity of your condition, your overall health, and how well you respond to the treatment.
- The injection itself is given as an intravenous infusion. This means the medication is delivered slowly into a vein, usually over a period of several hours, via a drip. Throughout the infusion and for a period afterward, healthcare staff will closely monitor you. They will be watching for any signs of unwanted side effects, such as fever, chills, rash, breathing difficulties, or changes in your blood pressure or heart rate. This careful monitoring ensures your safety during the treatment.
- It is very important to follow all instructions given by your doctor and to report any new or worsening symptoms or concerns you have immediately.
