• In Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), the uncontrolled growth of tumor cells stems from a process called transcriptional repression. This repression occurs due to the hypermethylation of DNA, an epigenetic modification that essentially silences genes that would normally regulate cell growth and differentiation.
• Transcriptional repression involves proteins that directly or indirectly bind to DNA, effectively turning off the copying or expression of specific genes or sets of genes. This disruption of normal gene expression pathways is a key factor in the development and progression of MDS and AML.

By inhibiting DNMTs, ACOZACIT INJECTION can lead to demethylation and reactivation of tumor suppressor genes that are silenced in cancer cells.
