TENEWIN M 500MG TABLET is a medication primarily used to manage type 2 diabetes. While generally well-tolerated, it's important to be aware of potential side effects. Most commonly, you might experience gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, indigestion, or a metallic taste in your mouth. These usually subside as your body adjusts to the medicine. Some individuals may also report headache or dizziness. Less commonly, but important to watch for, are symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), especially if used with other diabetes medications – signs include sweating, shakiness, confusion, and hunger. Rarely, serious side effects like lactic acidosis (characterized by unusual muscle pain, trouble breathing, severe stomach pain, dizziness, or feeling cold), allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of face/lips), or vitamin B12 deficiency (with long-term use, leading to fatigue or numbness) can occur. Always consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen, or if you experience any severe symptoms.

Allergies
UnsafeTenewin M 500mg Tablet is unsafe for patients with known allergies to Teneligliptin or Metformin. Inform your doctor about any prior allergic reactions.
Tenewin M 500mg Tablet is used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It helps control blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
Tenewin M 500mg Tablet contains Teneligliptin (typically 20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg).
Teneligliptin increases insulin release and reduces glucagon levels. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver, decreases glucose absorption from the intestine, and improves insulin sensitivity. Together, they lower blood sugar.
Usually, one tablet once or twice daily, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not adjust the dose without consultation.
Yes, it is generally recommended to take Tenewin M with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects, especially those related to Metformin.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste in mouth, and headache. These usually subside as your body adjusts.
Serious but rare side effects include lactic acidosis (a medical emergency, especially with Metformin), pancreatitis, and severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like severe stomach pain, difficulty breathing, or unusual muscle pain.
Take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Contact your doctor or emergency services immediately. Overdose can lead to severe hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis.
No, it is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a doctor after weighing risks and benefits.
Yes, inform your doctor about all medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Certain drugs like diuretics, corticosteroids, and some anti-hypertensive drugs can interact.
Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not freeze.
While Teneligliptin itself has a low risk of hypoglycemia, when combined with Metformin, especially if diet is insufficient or other anti-diabetic medications are used, the risk can increase. Be aware of symptoms and carry a sugar source.
No, it is specifically approved for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It is not for Type 1 Diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Many brands contain Teneligliptin and Metformin, such as Zita-Met, Tenepan-M, Glyten-M, Tenebite-M. Always consult your doctor for suitable alternatives.
Do not take if you have severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, uncontrolled heart failure, or a history of lactic acidosis. Also, if you are allergic to Teneligliptin or Metformin.
