Common side effects of ZILENTA M 500MG TABLET include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste in the mouth, headache, dizziness, and tremors. You might also experience mild low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), especially if taken with other diabetes medicines, or symptoms like sore throat, runny nose, cough, and joint pain. Less common but serious side effects can include Lactic Acidosis (symptoms: severe muscle pain, difficulty breathing, unusual tiredness, severe stomach pain), Pancreatitis (symptoms: severe stomach pain, persistent nausea and vomiting), and Liver problems (symptoms: yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, unexplained fatigue). Allergic reactions like rash or swelling of face/throat are also possible. Consult your doctor immediately if any serious side effects occur.

Allergies
UnsafeDo not take this medicine if you are allergic to Metformin, Vildagliptin, or any of its ingredients.
Zilenta M 500mg Tablet is primarily used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It helps control high blood sugar levels by improving the body's response to insulin and reducing glucose production.
Zilenta M 500mg Tablet contains Teneligliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg).
Take Zilenta M 500mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with meals to reduce stomach upset. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste in the mouth, and headache. These are usually mild and temporary.
Serious but rare side effects include lactic acidosis (a build-up of lactic acid in the blood), pancreatitis, and severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like severe stomach pain, rapid breathing, unusual muscle pain, or swelling of the face/throat.
While Metformin generally doesn't cause hypoglycemia on its own, when combined with Teneligliptin or other anti-diabetic medications, there's a possibility, especially if you skip meals, exercise excessively, or consume alcohol.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
It is generally advisable to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking Zilenta M, as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and low blood sugar.
Zilenta M should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Your doctor will assess your kidney function before prescribing it and may adjust the dosage or recommend an alternative medication if your kidney function is severely impaired.
Store Zilenta M 500mg Tablet at room temperature, away from moisture and direct light. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Zilenta M is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by your doctor, as its effects on the fetus or infant are not fully established.
You may start seeing improvements in blood sugar levels within a few days to a week. However, the full benefits of consistent blood sugar control will be observed with continued use as prescribed by your doctor, along with diet and exercise.
No, you should not stop taking Zilenta M 500mg Tablet without consulting your doctor, even if your blood sugar levels appear normal. Stopping abruptly can lead to a rebound in blood sugar and complications.
Zilenta M combines Metformin with Teneligliptin. Other Metformin-containing medicines might either contain only Metformin (e.g., Glycomet, Obimet) or be combined with a different class of anti-diabetic drug (e.g., Vildagliptin, Sitagliptin, Glimepiride). The choice depends on individual patient needs and doctor's assessment.
In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact a poison control center. Overdose can lead to severe hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis, which are medical emergencies.
