TENLIMAC M 500mg Tablet is a combination medication used to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Like all medicines, it can cause side effects, though not everyone experiences them. Most side effects are mild and temporary. Common Side Effects: * Nausea * Vomiting * Diarrhea * Abdominal pain or discomfort * Loss of appetite * Metallic taste in the mouth * Headache * Dizziness * Weakness or fatigue * Upper respiratory tract infection (like a common cold or sore throat) * Constipation Uncommon or Serious Side Effects (Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these): * Lactic Acidosis: This is a very rare but serious side effect. Symptoms include severe tiredness, unusual muscle pain, trouble breathing, stomach pain, dizziness, feeling cold, or a very slow or fast heartbeat. * Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia): Especially if you skip meals or use other diabetes medications. Symptoms include sweating, shakiness, fast heartbeat, hunger, confusion, or irritability. * Allergic Reactions: Rash, itching, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. * Pancreatitis: Severe stomach pain (possibly radiating to your back) with or without vomiting. * Vitamin B12 Deficiency: Long-term use of metformin can lead to this, potentially causing numbness or tingling in hands/feet, or weakness. It's important to discuss any concerns or persistent side effects with your doctor. Always read the patient leaflet for complete information.

Allergies
Consult a DoctorInform your doctor if you are allergic to Tenlimac M 500mg Tablet or any of its ingredients.
Tenlimac M 500mg Tablet is primarily used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It helps control high blood sugar levels.
Tenlimac M 500mg Tablet contains Teneligliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride. The 'M 500mg' refers to Metformin 500mg.
Teneligliptin helps the body produce more insulin when blood sugar is high and reduces sugar production by the liver. Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver, reduces glucose absorption from the intestines, and improves insulin sensitivity.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste, headache, and dizziness. These often subside as your body adjusts to the medication.
It is generally recommended to take this medicine with or immediately after meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Follow your doctor's instructions regarding timing and dosage.
While Metformin and Teneligliptin alone have a low risk of hypoglycemia, when taken with other anti-diabetic medications like insulin or sulfonylureas, the risk increases. Symptoms include sweating, dizziness, confusion, and tremors.
Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment. Metformin accumulation can lead to lactic acidosis, a serious condition. Your doctor may adjust the dose or recommend an alternative based on your kidney function.
It is generally advised to limit or avoid alcohol consumption as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis, especially when combined with Metformin. Alcohol can also affect blood sugar levels.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Overdose symptoms can include severe gastrointestinal upset, muscle pain, difficulty breathing, extreme tiredness, or signs of lactic acidosis (e.g., severe abdominal pain, rapid breathing, feeling cold). Seek immediate medical attention.
While there are no specific dietary restrictions imposed by the tablet itself, it's crucial to follow a diabetes-friendly diet low in sugar and refined carbohydrates, along with regular exercise, to effectively manage your blood sugar.
This medication is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by your doctor, as its safety in these conditions is not fully established. Alternative treatments may be preferred.
Store the tablets at room temperature, away from direct light and moisture. Keep them out of reach of children and pets.
No, Tenlimac M 500mg Tablet is not a cure for Type 2 Diabetes. It helps manage blood sugar levels and prevents complications, but it needs to be taken regularly as prescribed, often lifelong, along with lifestyle modifications.
Yes, many other brands combine Teneligliptin and Metformin (e.g., Tenelip-M, Zita-Met, Tenlia-M). While the active ingredients are the same, always consult your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands.
You may start seeing an improvement in your blood sugar levels within a few days to weeks of starting the medication. However, the full therapeutic effect often takes several weeks of consistent use, alongside diet and exercise. Your doctor will monitor your progress.
