Like all medicines, TENLIGRESS M 500MG TABLET can cause side effects, though not everybody gets them. It's important to be aware of these. **Common Side Effects (usually mild and temporary):** * Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or upset stomach * Abdominal pain or discomfort * Loss of appetite * Metallic taste in the mouth * Headache * Dizziness * Sore throat or runny nose (nasopharyngitis) * Constipation * Weakness or fatigue **Less Common or Serious Side Effects (seek medical attention immediately if you experience these):** * **Lactic Acidosis:** A very rare but serious condition. Symptoms include unusual muscle pain, trouble breathing, stomach pain, dizziness, feeling cold, unusual tiredness, or slow/irregular heartbeat. * **Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia):** Especially if taken with other diabetes medications. Symptoms include sweating, shakiness, dizziness, extreme hunger, blurred vision, confusion, or rapid heartbeat. * **Pancreatitis:** Severe stomach pain that might spread to your back, with or without vomiting. This is very rare. * **Allergic Reactions:** Rash, itching, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing. * **Vitamin B12 Deficiency:** Long-term use of metformin can lead to B12 deficiency, potentially causing numbness or tingling. * **Liver Problems:** Very rare, but look out for dark urine, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice). This is not a complete list of all possible side effects. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any concerns or experience any unusual symptoms.

Allergies
UnsafeTenligress M 500mg Tablet is unsafe if you have a known allergy to Teneligliptin, Metformin, or any other ingredients in the tablet, as it can cause severe allergic reactions.
TENLIGRESS M 500MG TABLET is primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps control high blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
The active ingredients are Teneligliptin (20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg).
Teneligliptin belongs to a class of drugs called DPP-4 inhibitors, which increase the amount of insulin released by your body after a meal and decrease the amount of sugar made by the liver. Metformin, a biguanide, reduces glucose production in the liver, decreases glucose absorption from the intestines, and improves insulin sensitivity. Together, they help lower blood sugar levels effectively.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste in the mouth, and headache. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) can occur if taken with other diabetes medications or without proper food intake.
Serious but rare side effects include lactic acidosis (a build-up of lactic acid in the blood, primarily due to metformin, especially in patients with kidney problems), pancreatitis, and severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like severe abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, or unusual muscle pain.
It should not be taken by patients with severe kidney disease, liver disease, severe heart failure, active alcohol abuse, or those with a history of lactic acidosis. It's also contraindicated in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
The dosage is typically one tablet once or twice daily, as prescribed by your doctor. It should be taken with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Do not adjust the dose without consulting your physician.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
While Tenligress M itself has a low risk of causing hypoglycemia, this risk increases significantly if it's taken in combination with other anti-diabetic medications like insulin or sulfonylureas. Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, confusion, and shakiness.
Store the tablets at room temperature (below 30°C), away from moisture and direct light. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
It is generally advised to limit or avoid alcohol consumption, especially excessive intake, as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis, a serious side effect of Metformin. Alcohol can also affect blood sugar levels.
No, TENLIGRESS M 500MG TABLET is not a cure for diabetes. It helps manage blood sugar levels and is part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes diet, exercise, and regular monitoring of blood glucose.
Yes, many pharmaceutical companies manufacture this combination. Some common brands include Zita-Met, Glypten M, Tenor M, Tenglyn M, among others. The exact strength of Metformin may vary across brands.
It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and risks and may suggest alternative treatments if necessary. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Type 2 diabetes is usually a chronic condition, and medications like Tenligress M are often required long-term to maintain blood sugar control. Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, even if your blood sugar levels are well-controlled.
Metformin, one of the components, is often associated with modest weight loss or weight neutrality, unlike some other antidiabetic medications that can cause weight gain. Teneligliptin is generally weight-neutral.
