TIBAN M 20/500mg Tablet may cause some side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects often improve as your body adjusts to the medicine and may include: stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and a metallic taste in the mouth. You might also experience constipation or headache. If taken with other diabetes medicines, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can occur, so be aware of symptoms like dizziness, sweating, and confusion. Less common but serious side effects include severe allergic reactions, liver problems, pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), or a very rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis (symptoms include extreme tiredness, muscle pain, trouble breathing, stomach pain, dizziness, or slow heart rate). Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any severe or persistent side effects.

Allergies
Consult a DoctorInform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any ingredients in TIBAN M.
TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET is primarily used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It helps to control high blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
The active ingredients in TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET are Teneligliptin (20mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg).
Teneligliptin works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas and reducing hormones that raise blood sugar. Metformin works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, reducing glucose absorption from the intestines, and improving insulin sensitivity in the body. Together, they effectively lower blood sugar levels.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste in the mouth, and headache. These usually subside as your body adjusts to the medication.
Serious but rare side effects can include lactic acidosis (a serious build-up of lactic acid), pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), and severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, unexplained muscle pain, or difficulty breathing.
While Metformin and Teneligliptin generally have a low risk of causing hypoglycemia when used alone, the risk can increase if taken with other diabetes medications like insulin or sulfonylureas. Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, confusion, and tremors.
Take TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken with meals to minimize stomach upset, typically once or twice daily. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
It is generally advised to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking TIBAN M, especially due to the Metformin component. Alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and can also cause low blood sugar.
Store TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET at room temperature, away from moisture and direct heat. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not store in the bathroom.
TIBAN M is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a doctor, as there is limited data on its safety in these populations. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.
TIBAN M contains the same active ingredients (Teneligliptin and Metformin) as other brands like Zita Met, Onglyza M, or Janumet, which also combine a DPP-4 inhibitor with Metformin. The primary difference is the brand name, manufacturer, and potentially the inactive ingredients, but the therapeutic effect is similar. Always stick to the brand prescribed by your doctor.
TIBAN M is typically prescribed for long-term management of Type 2 Diabetes. You should continue taking it as long as advised by your doctor, even if your blood sugar levels improve, as stopping prematurely can lead to a rise in sugar levels.
Inform your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially kidney or liver disease, heart problems, or a history of pancreatitis. Maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise. Regular blood sugar monitoring is crucial. Also, be aware of symptoms of lactic acidosis.
Metformin, one of the components of TIBAN M, is often associated with modest weight loss or weight neutrality. Teneligliptin is generally weight-neutral. Therefore, TIBAN M is unlikely to cause significant weight gain and may even contribute to slight weight reduction in some individuals.
It's a seamless experience.
