About RISTOVA 500MG/50ML INJECTION

  • RISTOVA 500MG/50ML INJECTION contains the active medicine called rituximab. It is used to treat several serious conditions in adults. It can be used alone or with other medicines to treat a type of cancer affecting white blood cells called B-lymphocytes (Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma) and a common type of cancer affecting B-cells (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia). It is also used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (a condition where the body's immune system attacks its own joints), usually with another medicine called methotrexate. Other uses include treating rare conditions causing blood vessel inflammation, mainly affecting the lungs and kidneys (Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis and Microscopic Polyangiitis) in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It is also used for moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris (an autoimmune condition causing painful blisters on the skin and inside the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals).
  • RISTOVA 500MG/50ML INJECTION belongs to a group of medicines called 'monoclonal antibodies', specifically targeting a protein called CD20 found on the surface of certain white blood cells (B-cells). By targeting these cells, the medicine helps the body fight the specific diseases it is used for. This can reduce the number of B-cells in the body.
  • You should not receive this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any other ingredients, have a very weak immune system, or currently have a severe infection.
